Written and executive produced by Gaiman, the upgraded version of The Storyteller will create a mysterious world blending various fairy tales and folklore. It’ll be updated “for rdquo the binging &; audience of now, the socket was told by Gaiman.
“The Storyteller has always been a special project for me personally, having worked so closely with my father on the first idea. Neil Gaiman is a specialist in mythology and folklore, along with himself being lsquo & the contemporary;rsquo & storyteller; for our times. I feel as if Neil were a celebrity, he’d need to play with (the Storyteller) since he embodies what the storyteller is, a skillful wordsmith who can entertain folks with the energy of the narrative itself, and not to mention that he memorizes it all in his mind,” added Lisa Henson, CEO of The Jim Henson Company.
“Part of what fascinates me about The Storyteller is the things we don’t understand. Who was the Storyteller he told a goblin to these tales? What rsquo & I;d like to perform is an story that’s long as the story that is exterior. We’re going to find a lot about who the storyteller is, we out & rsquo; re going to learn things we don & rsquo t know. We’re going to start in a kingdom where the action of telling a story is responsible and where tales are prohibited and will get you executed or imprisoned. If you set a storyteller within that circumstance, things would have to begin getting interactive,” said Gaiman.

Inspired by his daughter Lisa’s college studies in folklore and mythology, Jim Henson created the first version of The Storyteller in 1987 and directed several episodes, with Oscar winner Anthony Minghella composing all the episodes. The Emmy and BAFTA-winning live-action TV series featured monsters by Jim Henson’s Creature Shop at a re-telling of various European folk tales, using a mysterious elfin storyteller (played by John Hurt). The area of The Storyteller was occupied by several mysterious and magical characters — heartless giants, enchanted beggars, white lions, and individual hedgehogs — exploring topics like fear, desire, death and fate, and challenging notions about good and evil.
