Rachel McAdams Will Not Return For Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness
Earlier today, word broke that Marvel is in talks with Sam Raimi to bring him on board to direct Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. But Variety’s report buried. According to Variety, Rachel McAdams won’t be returning for the Doctor Strange sequel.
In the first film, McAdams portrayed Dr. Christine Palmer, a colleague and former lover of Benedict Cumberbatch’s Stephen Strange. Before their relationship fell apart christine tried to assist Strange move. After he became a sorcerer strange also revisited Christine, until they parted ways again and they reconciled. She was Strange’s last link to the world he left behind.
Luckily, Variety noted that Chiwetel Ejiofor and Benedict Wong are expected to come back. Ejiofor played the friend of Strange turned adversary, Baron Mordo; while Wong portrayed another sorcerer serving under the Ancient One, Wong. Elizabeth Olsen will also reprise her role. Disney+’s WandaVision and Loki series will also tie into the upcoming sequel.
