Amy Sedaris: Use bacon fat as sunscreen during coronavirus lockdown

Sedaris: I do, yes. I’m taking more time cutting and dicing. I’m doing things slower in the kitchen. Like, actually romanticizing the cooking element of, like, throwing it in one pot, like an alcoholic could, and walk away for an hour. I’m taking more time. But I have one recipe; that’s it. I usually go to my stand-bys.

Do you have a go-to cooking tip for quarantine?

“Our show already feels like it is in quarantine since we never leave the freakin’ set,” she tells The Post. “We took it inside of an’I Dream of Jeannie’ bottle and now we’re all living inside of an’I Dream of Jeannie’ bottle. I just hope people don’t get that claustrophobic feeling, if they’re stuck at home, seeing others stuck on a set.”
The wild satire of a homemaking show — starring comic and consummate crafter Amy Sedaris as a deluded domestic diva with a dark side — kicks off its third season at 10 p.m. Wednesday on TruTV. And Sedaris, 59, says shooting at the show on a home last year, set really felt as though it was shot on lockdown.

What is the weirdest thing to do with it?

Escola: No, I get in a tub and am like,’Well, I’m here.’ As I do the sea, I kind of feel the same way. I don’t really want stay. I get in a tub and I’m like,’OK, well, I’m done.’
Sedaris: Do you take baths, Cole?
Escola: Date someone.

Sedaris: I sort of have that feeling now no matter what. I enjoy being at home. I enjoy it. But I’m getting a bit antsy; I’m over it.

What is your cooking tip, Cole?

But viewers will have plenty of daffy distractions. The prior”Strangers With Candy” star and her cast of characters — including hardy, bouffant-rocking socialite Patty Hogg, played by Sedaris, and self-involved neighbor Chassie Tucker (series regular Cole Escola) — will stay occupied by turning her craft room into a nursery (rusty-nail crib mobile, anyone?) , giving a whirl to summer outdoor entertaining (well, possibly after lockdown) and more.

What about you, Cole?

Sedaris: Only save that bacon fat for everything!
Escola: Not really. My boyfriend will come over sometimes and he likes to cook, so he does this and I eat the leftovers. It’s like an all-day activity when because I don’t actually know how to do it I try to make something. I have to read three times, like, the recipe and everything.
Sedaris: Now you are gonna start getting some s–t in the mail from me.

Sedaris: I’m with him. I love the idea of a bath over a shower, but I’m not in there long. I’m in and out — it is a waste of water.
Her Cobble Hill sidekick Escola and longtime Greenwich Village resident Sedaris , 33, recently talked with The Post about living in quarantine with taking baths and their cooking tips.

I have patience. I don’t really have what it takes to see a film and I don’t really want to listen to music; I do know what I want, you know? You’re not busy running around, going in and out, but I have been able to read novels, which has been nice. I miss not seeing my godkids and I enjoy hanging out with friends, so this is missed by me.
Escola: Yeah, I’m getting stir-crazy and I’m taking a look at hotels and things, pretending to plan a trip.
